"You've won big money in a foreign lottery." -"You trust me right? "You have to make up your mind right now." By Adam, Katie & Jordan You are legally entitled to $500 Do not pay for any prize or send money to improve your chances of winning Woman from the DNC list An Ohio widow was scammed out of $240,000—her life savings-by 50 different telemarketers. Transcript: Telemarketing What do telemareters do? There are three types of telemarketers Product Sellers Serveyers And money receivers Product sellers are the ones how call your home or offices to try to convince you to buy their products They also answer any questions or concerns from the customer Product sellers also need to record the customer and there payment information Serveyers call people to see if they will help conduct a servey Then they record the information about the servey Last but not least, money recievers try to convince people to give money to help out charities or anything else that needs money Before just thinking that you can walk up to them and get a job... You will need some skills First of all, it would be preferred to have a high school diploma You need to have a clear speaking voice and good hearing so that you can understand your customers and they can understand you You need to be good with people, after all your job is talking to them You need to be enthosiastic and persuasive if you want to talk them into doing what you want Last but not least you must be patient because the customer may be yelling at you and you can loose your temper on the job While working you will be using a computer, a microphone and a telephone You will be using the telephone to call people an dthe microphone to talk into because you cant be holding the phone and be on the computer at the same time The computer is used for recording any information and looking up any informention needed for the customer The minimum wage for this job is $20 an hour Some people work for $25 an hour This earning depends on your experience, employer and education The day in the life of a tele marketer is quite simple You can have either work in offices or you can work at your home You either answer the phones of call people You might also need to work bed shifts This includes evenings and weekends Personally i think that his is a great job I like how you can stay in the privacy o your home while you are working I also like how little education is needed for this job What i dont like is how i would get on peoples nerves I also don't like the pay we get, but it is good for the little amount of work we are doing I also don't like the itime that you might need to work Now you know about being an telemarketer, the skills you need, the pay, the day in the life of a telemarketer, and my personal opinion and I hope you learned something Thank you But work can be very stressfull and discouraging when you don't get any calls or the people are not coperating
