How stressed do you feel before multiple tests/projects are due on one day? 11th grade was left out entirely (Sampling Error) Previous polls have found that 11th grade is the most stressful year, which would have been a valuable contribution to our poll 3. How many tests do you have per week? • Our first question was: what is your grade level? • 16 freshmen, 20 sophomores, and 30 seniors participated, a total of 66 from all grades. • 61 people responded to the second question: how many AP/honors classes are you taking? • All seniors surveyed were in AP Literature taught by Mr. Tow, and so had at least one AP course. All sophomores and freshmen were in prep level english. • Over two-thirds of seniors are taking 3 or more AP or honors classes. • Only two freshmen are taking an AP or honors course, both are only taking one. • Most sophomores are taking no AP or honors classes, one is taking one advanced course, another is taking two. Results 2. How many AP or Honors classes have you taken this year? Sample and Population Third Question First Question Fifth Question Almost all students were significantly stressed by tests and projects All students were equally or more stressed when confronted with multiple tests and projects, to the point where many maxed out the scale. • 57 people responded to the third question: how many tests per week do you have? • Out of all three classes, 8 students have 0-1 tests per week, 43 students have 2-3, 6 have 4-5. 74% have two or more every week. • 64 people responded to the fourth question: how stressed out do you feel on average? Grade your stress-level from 1 to 10. • Sophomores were more stressed overall, 85% said that they were at or above a stress level of 8. • 86% of seniors have an average stress level of 5 or more. • Seniors on average were the most stressed before a test or project, with over two-thirds claiming they were at a 9 or 10 stress level out of 10. • 42 total students, or 66% of the sample, had over a stress level of 5. • Only 2 students, or 3%, claimed they had a stress level below 3 on average.
