Transcript: The intern should have suggestions that shorten working time and make machine ordering process become simpler and more effective. Proposed System II: Ideal System: Thank you for listening! Accurate time study cannot be performed. Practices for efficiency 1. Communication between departments and customer 2. Consolidation of Data and Single Database 3. Managing Inventory 4. Automation of processes Project Outcome: *Ideal chart is to have minimum delays Circle: Operation Arrow: Transportation Square: Inspection D: Delay Inverted Triangle: Storage 1. Communication between departments and customer Marketing and planning departments correspond to each other closely for the machine ordering process. When the marketing department inputs incorrectly, the planning department needs fix the problem which takes time. Goal is to be simplified like the Ideal system SKIC and TCP machine orders Utilizes 2 inventory sytems Has 5 delays Due to different companies, the process of machine ordering are different. It takes a long time and requires a lot of steps. The intern would study all steps through the machine ordering process and give suggestions to make them simple and effective. Study Constraints Simplification of the Machine Ordering Process Problem Statement Observation period for the study is limited Minimize the machine ordering process from 1 hour and 50 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Symbols: Summary of the Report: Suggests that conversions is give to marketing department 9, 11 & 12 of the current system, can be eliminated if marketing dept e-mails additional orders computed in tons instead of rolls. Planning department will just have to input extra orders into the excel file. 2. Inventory Consolidation SKIC and TCP have different inventory systems. This difference causes significant delay in the process and exposes the process to more human errors. Benchmark SKIC machine orders Minimum time to create a machine order. Only has 1 unavoidable delay. Observed weak points: Present System: Proposed System I: Significant delay is the difference in inventory system of SKIC and TCP Proposal is to use the same system for TCP and SKIC An elimination of 920 seconds from the process will be benefited Results to just 1 unavoidable delay, just like in the ideal system. If willing to invest on the integration of SKIC and TCP’s inventory. The goal is to simplify and make the process efficient. Eliminating avoidable delays will make the process efficient and simple. Proposal I: No cost, quick solution. Proposal II: With cost, long term solution. Both solutions qualify for the 1 hour and 30 minutes goal of the department. A trial run and revisions for the proposals cannot be implemented PROJECT ASSIGNMENT PRESENTATION By: Joanna Maria D. Patawaran Also, thank you for your department's warm welcome and hospitality for the 16 days I have been here.

Teens are curious to see who texted them or called them. They believe that they can do more than one thing at a time while driving. One of a multitasking myth is that Hands-free devices remove the danger of cell phone use during driving, but in reality drivers talking on cell phones miss seeing 50% of their driving surroundings, including pedestrians and traffic lights. This is also known as “inattention blindness.” I would make a conversation with the driver who is texting and driving or make-up a game that doesn't involve much thinking nor movement, so they can get their mind off their phone. by: Laura Torres 05.02 Assignment Template Sara Wiggins Why? http://www.nhtsa.gov/ http://www.nsc.org/Connect/Pages/about-nsc.aspx Groups currently working to solve this problem National Safety Council Mission is a nonprofit organization with the mission to save lives by preventing injuries and deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the road through leadership, research, education and advocacy. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration mission is to "Save lives, prevent injuries, reduce vehicle-related crashes." Another thing i can do: One thing I can do is: Teens Cannot Multitask While Driving "Activity in the parietal lobe, the area of the brain that processes movement of visual images and is important for safe driving, decreases by as much as 37% when listening to language, according to a study by Carnegie Mellon University. " Texting and driving is a big problem, especially for teens. I would speak to the driver who is texting and driving and say that i feel uncomfortable about it. http://www.nsc.org/DistractedDrivingDocuments/The-Great-Multitasking-Lie-print.pdf What is something else that can be done to help solve or alleviate this problem?
