Habitability The Habitation on planet earth is the perfect place for humans to live. It has a great supply of food and water. Terra forming Things do need to change to keep living on our planet. we need to go to alternatives such as the gases that we burn that pollute the air. Moons Its the easiest object to find in the night sky. you see it almost every night. It takes 27.3 days to rotate on its axis and to orbit around the earth. We on ca see one side of the moon and depending on the sun light determines how much sun we see. It is a Grayish color with many craters on it. Planet Appearance It is blue, white, some what green and brown. It is round and very pretty to look at. It looks like it glows at night 1 AU Earth Measurements 1m 24,902 Mass: 755,000km Weather 9.80665m Volume: Mean Density: Equatorial Circumference: Gravity: 1,097,509,500,000,000,000,000 Earth got its name from Germans, it simply means ground/ soil/ dirt. 3.2 ounces per cubic inch

Transcript: Earth's period of rotation is 23 hours and 56 minutes. The length of 1 day is 24 hours. It takes 365 Earth days to reach 1 Earth year! Earth's diameter is 12,756 km! Think that's big? The Sun's diameter is 100x bigger! Earth has one moon. The atmosphere is made of different gases that protect life from the heat of the sun. Earth's gravity pulls you down at a rate of 9.8 meters per second! Temperature on Earth can range from -88 to 58 °C. Depending on your location. Taking a trip to earth could be fun... Since Earth is all about Kool Aid, You will stay in a Kool Aid themed room. :) Wondering how you will get around? You would not have to worry about oxygen because everywhere on Earth you will have oxygen. Also, you will get temperature sensitive clothes so you don't have to worry about bringing 'appropriate' clothes. To have a good time all you will need is yourself, friends, and family. (Although by the time you leave you will have made a ton of friends!) Since we have different weather conditions, there are many things you can do to have a good time... Even if you are able to do some of these things on another planet you probably won't be able to do everything we have on just one planet. You would have to travel to lots of different places. Planet Earth

Transcript: It is the 5th largest planet in our solar system. Earth is the 3rd planet from the sun. Glaciation is the changing of landforms by slowly moving glaciers. Humus is organic material in soil. In the history of the Earth the greenhouse gases have kept the earth's water melted. The gases have become a problem in recent years Physical weathering is caused by temperature and weather changes. A glacier is a large, long-lasting mass of ice that moves because of gravity. Landforms are naturally formed features on the surface of the earth. Earth is also the most dense planet in the solar system. The Earth's circumference at the Equator is 24,900 miles. The Earth has 57,511,026.002 sq. mi. of land mass. The Earth's surface from the edge of a continent to the deep part of the ocean is called the continental shelf. Ground water is the water held by the pores in rocks. The level at which the rock is saturated marks the rim of the water table. A moriane is a ridge, mound, or irregular mass of unstratified glacial drift, chiefly boulders, gravel, sand, and clay. The continents of Earth were once all one land mass. Mechanical weathering is the erosion or breakdown of rock into smaller fragments by natural physical agents with no chemicals involved. Continental drift is the drifting of continents through their tectonic plates. The hydrologic cycle is the continous circualtion of water between the atmosphere, the oceans, and the Earth. Acid rain is rainfall made sufficiently acidic by atmospheric pollution that it causes environmental harm, typically to forests and lakes. A delta is a nearly flat plain of alluvial deposit between diverging branches of the mouth of a river, often, though not necessarily, triangular. Oceans move with the currents, waves, and tides. A seismograph is used to study vibrations beneath the earths surface. The Earth was formed the the conglomeration of rock particles from an earlier solar system. One year on Earth is about 365.25 days A loess is a loamy deposit formed by wind, usually yellowish and calcareous, common in the Mississippi Valley and in Europe and Asia. Gases surounding the Earth are its atmosphere. It is made up of the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and the biosphere. Water cover 70.8% of Earth's surface. The solar system consists of the sun and 8 planets. Groundwater is the water held beneath Earth's surface, often in and around the pores of rocks. The epicenter is the middle point of an earthquake. Oceans are essential to life on Earth. The Earth's core is metal. It has an outer core with a magnetic field. Lakes hold more than 95% of Earth's freshwater. There are tectonic plates under the Earth's surface. These are what causes fault lines and mountains to form. The core is the center of the Earth. Surrounding the core is the mantle. The crust is the outer most layer. The Earth is about 4 1/2 billion years old. The Earth is 93 million miles from the sun. The ring of fire is the rim around the pacific ocean that is the location of a vast majority of active volcanoes. It is the first known planet in the solar system to be inhabitable. Supply of water that we use for our own uses and drinking. It comes from rain, lakes, rivers, and underground aquifers. Earth is just the right distance from the sun. Chemical weathering is a process that changes rock into a new substance through interactions among elements in the air or water and the minerals in the rock. Continental shelf is the Earth's surface from the edge of a continent to the deep part of the ocean. Silt is the loose sedimentary material containing very small rock particles, fromed by a river depostits and very fertile. A relief seperates two geological landforms. A tsunami is a large wave usually caused by an earthquake that can be very destructive.

Transcript: Mayon is one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines for erupting 49 times in the past 400years. luster is identified by its reflective light and its The Rocky mountains stretch more than 3000 miles across. - The rocky mountains are located in Alberta In order to find natural gas digging teams must dig at least 6000 feet in the ground which is over a mile. can not only be vapor but also ice. Natural Gas The Golden Toad When plants break up rock with roots Sedimentary rocks take up 3 quarters of the earths surface they are formed at the surface at beaches, rivers ,oceans Thank you for your attention! Mayon is considered the worlds most perfectly formed volcano. Extinct Species Continental drift is caused by convectional currents glassy color The Golden Toad was first discovered in 1964, which lived in the Costa Rica Rain Forests. In 1989 the golden toad went extinct - Planet Earth Reason for Continental Drift Lustre can also be identified by its greasy, shiny and metallic color Different types of minerals 2012 Earthquake in Italy Earth's Hydrosphere Mould fossils Sedimentary Rocks - - A mould fossil is created when a organism dies in sediment and layers of sediment fall on top of it and the organism is hit by air and water which come through the little pores in the sediments and all the material inside the bones dissolve and you are left with a mould fossil. by looking at sedimentary rocks scientists can find out how the climate and environment has changed through these rocks Rocky Mountains - Part of the pacific ring of fire Biological weathering is a cause by activity from living organisms. this includes water that is under ground, and on the surface. Earth's hydrosphere consists of all the water the earth contains. Many people think that global warming is what caused the Golden Toad to go extinct but it was actually all the carbon dioxide and other green house gasses that went into the atmosphere, which caused the Costa Rica rain forests to get hotter and more dryer which made the Golden Toad vulnerable to these conditions and made them go extinct. we depend on natural gas more than people think over half of the homes in the US are powered by natural gas. luster Subject 1 The earth's hydrosphere The Earthquake in Italy was recorded to be a magnitude of 6.0. The damage of this Earthquake destroyed buildings, cars, and houses. This earthquake also caused 7 people to die and 50 injured. Biological Weathering Subject 2
