Transcript: Case History Patient was a 45 Year Old Male Name: “DC” Scheduled for a CAE and VNG Patient provided case history Positive for several heart attacks Also positive for several strokes most recent ~2008 During Case History Patient was laboring to produce answers to questions At times Patient was somewhat fluent and could be understood Several physical ticks and strain on patients face My Impressions Patient chart had relevant medical information but no information on speech abilities Patient understood questions regarding balance problems and other audiological questions Any Ideas? Broca's Aphasia Dysarthia Fluency High rate of repetitions Mental and Physical effort(strain) Patient showed frustration I cannot diagnosis Normal Audiogram Good SRT/PTA Agreement Good Word Discrimination During testing Gave directions, allowed more time for speech testing, at times patient would exhibit no difficulty and other times would show some difficulty What I would do different?
