Transcript: What is Law Enforcement? A forensic Scientist gathers and evaluates the scene of a crime. They can prove whether someone is innocent or guilty. Violations include terrorism, cyber crime, kidnapping, corruption, and more. Agencies look for applicants with bachelors that majored in forensic natural or physical science from an accredited college. Agents are in charge of investigating over two hundred violations related to federal law. If the FBI accepts you, the send you into their own training academy to be an Agent. it depends on what the applicant has to offer, most department want either a high school or college graduate. Most agenices look for applicants who have taken a course on math, biology, chemistry and computer skills. Most people in this field work for federal state, or local law enforcement agencies. Its a system of certain people in a society that enforces the law by discovering or punishing those who brake the rules. What is The Purpose? Education The median pay officers get is about $45,210 per year, but it depends in which department you work in Homeland Security Their earning depend on how much education you have, what you do, and where you work. Forensic Science U.S. Marshal Entry Level agents can make around $40,000 annually but agents with more experience earn over $100,000. Custom Agent Education Officer patrol the streeets on foot, squad cars, control traffic or work as detectives investigating crime. Vulnerable Adult Abuse A caregiver is someone who watches over or takes care of a person A vulnerable adult is someone who is 18 or older and has some sort of deficiency or disability There are four degrees of Vulnerable Adult Abuse First Degree Caregiver "intentionally" caused "serious" harm Second Degree Caregiver acted recklessly causing a serious physical or mental injury to occur Third Degree Caregiver intentionally harmed Fourth Degree Caregiver caused physical harm to vulnerable adult You want a few examples here you go! This video brings us into our next subject Vulnerable adult Fraud This crime is punishable from a 93 day misdemeanor all the way to a 10 year felony. It all depends on if there are any previous convictions and how much money was taken. For example: If $1,000 - $20,000 is taken it is a 5 year felony Ethnic Intimidation Someone who harasses or intimidates someone else because of their religion, race, gender, or national origin. Question: Why can't the Klu Klux Klan be charged with Ethnic Intimidation? Lets look over the qualifications of ethnic intimidation again. A person is guilty of ethnic intimidation if: Physical contact occurs with another person Property was destroyed or damaged Threats by word or act were made Now who do you picture, when you think of a stalker? Ghostface, maybe? Now what is stalking? Stalking is the repeated harassment of another individual that would cause them to feel terrorized, frightened, or intimidated. There are two types of stalking: Misdemeanor Stalking In order for misdemeanor stalking to occur: The victim must feel harassed or suffer emotional distress The contact between the victim and suspect must be unconsented and The pattern of conduct must consist of 2 or more seperate acts that show the continuity of purpose. Aggravated Stalking Aggravated stalking and misdemeanor stalking have many of the same elements. But whats the difference? The actions that were committed violated a restraining order, probation or parole, and a credible threat was made. A credible threat is threatening to kill another individual or inflict physical injury to that person and cause them to fear for their safety. Aggravated stalking is punishable for up to 5 years in prison and a fine of $10,000 Now on to new material.... Posting a Message Felony What would you define hazing as? Obscene, Harassing, or Threatening Phone Calls When a person calls someone with the purpose to frighten, terrorize, intimidate, or threaten them they are guilty of a misdemeanor. Some examples of this are: Threatening physical harm Refusing to disengage connection Identity Theft Identity theft is obtaining or attempting to obtain personal information of another person. Personal Information includes: Social Security number Drivers License or State Id Credit Card Debit Card Computer Crimes Felony any crime that involves a computer and a network Some examples are: Harassment Cyber Terrorism Fraud Adulterated Food Placing pins,needles, razor blades, glass, or other harmful objects in food with the intent to harm the consumer. Poisoning Willfully putting a harmful substance in food,a drink,or pharamacuetical product. Telling someone that something has been poisoned but the claim is absolutely false.
