By majoring in computer engineering, I would be able to help my family in more ways than one: I will: -be able to get them out of debt -help them if they have problems with their products. -have the education than none of my parents earned. -make them proud. By working alongside with electronics, electrical engineers help advance and change current technology in order to take a step in to the future. They help improve current products that produce, or use electricity, such as creating batteries that extend the life of phones or tablets. How will I help my community? Engineers help in a variety of ways. Mainly, a person in this occupation is able to work on projects ranging from the Global Positioning Systems, to small power grids. They help maintain the distribution of electricity to a reasonable size. Overview I didn't grow up in the brightest neighborhood, but being the optimistic person I am, I know that the city of Tacoma has potential to becoming greater. Throughout my career I plan to return to the city of destiny constantly, so I can help give back to the city that raised the person I grew into. Which college? Ever since I was a child, I found myself spending a large amount of money on useless trinkets which are taken apart and tampered with. As I watch technology advance I can only imagine what opportunities will open up, eagerly waiting to make my move into the industry of technology. In more ways than one, I find it more as a hobby than work. Technology will never digress, the only thing that matters is how the product is being used.

Power engineers may also work on power systems that do not connect to the main power grid, such as private and remote generators. These are called off-grid systems.
