It is also believed that the Europeans made the compass rose during the 12th century. So they aren't really sure who made this invention,but they have theories. Who? It got its name because the points on the compass rose originally looked like rose petals. The compass rose is magnetic due to the lodestone which tells you the direction you are going in.
