Also, because they both get shot. But unlike Candy, George was able to shoot Lennie himself instead of having the regret of letting someone else kill one of his only friends. Lonely (actions) In the text he shows selfishness by being rude about Candy's dog who he knows that Candy really admires. "He ain't no good to you, Candy. An' he ain't no good to himself.
