Merging

Transcript: Finale Merging the Political World and Teaching Make the argument that schooling represents both a struggle to define meaning and a struggle over power relations. We as teachers "must speak out against economic, political and social injustices both within and outside of schools...work to create conditions that give students the opportunity to become citizens who have the knowledge and courage to struggle in order to make despair unconvincing and hope practical." These would consist of treating students as critical agents; make knowledge problematic; utilize critical and affirming dialogue; and most importantly, making the case for forming a qualitatively better world for all people. Create a dialogue with students that unites the idea of critique with possibility. Step 2 Step 1 We as teachers must also develop a critical understanding of teaching methods that are attentive to problems of everyday life, particularly as they relate to classroom practice. Step 3 Not only does this help the student to overcome these issues but they also are able to connect on a more fundamental level with those who are struggling in these areas. This realization allows for important reflection and action to become part of a social project to help students become more adept at overcoming political, economic and social injustices. Utilizing teaching ideologies that are inherently political in nature. This sort of thinking means that we as teachers must give students some form of active voice in their learning experiences. This dialogue will not only help the students but will allow educators the knowledge that they can facilitate change. Remember that, although this is most certainly a challenging task before us, it is undoubtedly worth it.

Great with students, workers, family, etc. For example: With games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, players can pick practically any answers. The person who is running the game will have to have all of the answers in order to determine if players are correct or not. However, with a game like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the players only have a choice between answers, A, B, C, or D. Therefore, when the player decides their answer, the person running the game clicks it, and the game will tell them whether they are right or wrong.
