Transcript: Advantages and Disadvantages I've been around sports all of my life which is one of the reasons why I would like to become an Athletic Trainer. Another reason is because I've played softball since I was seven but I had to stop because of injuries. I have been through physical therapy twice so I know what it is like. I would like to use my experience to help athletes continue to play the game that they love. The last reason why I would like to become an Athletic Trainer is the traveling. I have always loved to travel and view new places. Being able to do that as part of my job is going to be amazing. Athletic Training The Steps to becoming an Athletic Trainer Disadvantages: ATC's work long and unexpected hours and they move around a lot. Advantages: ATC's in high levels are payed well, they are always around sport and are an important part of the team. Also, they get to travel frequently. by Victoria Henderson Why I would like to become an Athletic Trainer. The Final Steps. What is an Athletic Trainer? After six years of college and a certification I hope to be working my way to the top to eventually become a Certified Athletic Trainer for a professional sports team. What do Athletic Trainers do ? In order to become an Athletic Trainer I would need to get at least a bachelors degree in a health related field like physical education, athletic training, or exercise science. Then you must get your certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association. If you would like to work in the high levels of athletic training a high degree will be needed. Seventy percent of people going into the field of Athletic Training have a masters degree or higher. Personally I would like to attend Florida Gulf Coast to double major in Public Relations and Athletic Training. After I receive my degree I am going to get my certification and then pursue my masters degree in Athletic Training. Athletic trainers are responsible to teach athletes how to properly use equipment and performance techniques in order to prevent injuries. They are expected to be able to work under pressure and have extensive knowledge in the area of first aid. An athletic trainer works with the players to prevent and rehabilitate injuries which means they are expected to be at practices, games, and camps. They travel with the team and often work unexpected hours. Also, their hours can be affected depending on how many players are injured at the time. An ATC or Certified Athletic Trainer is a health care professional who specializes in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that occur from participation in physical activity. An athletic trainer for a professional sports team typically works 14 hours a day including nights, mornings, and weekends. They are paid based on their field, but for the field I would like to enter, which is professional sports, they make anywhere from $80,000 to over $100,000 a year. There are also a high demand for Athletic Trainers because this is a high-stakes, high-profile job.

Great with students, workers, family, etc. For example: With games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, players can pick practically any answers. The person who is running the game will have to have all of the answers in order to determine if players are correct or not. However, with a game like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the players only have a choice between answers, A, B, C, or D. Therefore, when the player decides their answer, the person running the game clicks it, and the game will tell them whether they are right or wrong.
